Basic Hairstyles in Maplestory
When you first create a character in Maplestory, you can choose between several basic cuts based on the gender and job of your characters. Before the Maplestory Red update at the end of 2013, Explorers, the original character type, were only available with hair in black, brown, blonde, and red hair colors.
2-Maplestory Hair Styles Vanille
Other character types come with other hair colors and styles. This is true for Phantoms, Cygnus Knights, and Dual Blades, among others. For example, Dual Blade females have pigtails that fade to a second color, or short hair brushed back to a point with symmetrical bangs in front while male Dual Blades have longish hair that coves part of the face or short hair with a silver streak that is pulled back.
3-Explorer Maplestory HairStyles
VIP hairstyles come in every color of the rainbow. Hair is also available in gray, pink, white, and multiple-color styles. The Creampuff and Time-saver Maplestory hairstyles are examples of styles with multiple colors. Both feature a gradient similar to “ombre” hairstyles in real life.
Some styles in Maplestory include a permanent accessory such as a flower. For example, the Crazy Medusa style has multiple ponytails that pay homage to the snakes in Mythological Medusa’s hair, and Spring Ribbon features a red ribbon above the character’s ear.
4-Changing Hair Styles in Maplestory
To change hairstyles, players can move their characters to salons in various cities around the maps. Players can purchase coupons to use in the salons from the Maplestory Cash Shop. Not every hairstyle is available from ever salon, however. For example, the salon in Amoria provides the maiden’s weave, a long curly hairdo while the straight, parted style known as Jean is only available from the Ludibrium salon. The developers of Maplestory releases a special coupon, the Royal Hair Coupon, which players can only redeem in the Henesys saloon.
Some specialty colors may only be available in specific hairstyles. A few quests, including some in Amoria, reward players with different Maplestory hairstyles. Some events might only be available for a short period of time, however. Players who are able to purchase or win
The developer team behind Maplestory releases new hairstyles that coincide with new characters types, quests, and events. During events, players may be able to win coupons or special items that change their hairstyles without purchasing the coupon from the cash shop.
