As an American actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s hairstyles seem to make the news every time she decides to try on a new look. She has had plenty of these over the last 12 years. In 2002 she was wearing short to mid-length cut just reaching the nape of her neck with a left part and tucked behind the ear; a flower added for effect. She appeared with this cut at the première of her new film, The Secretary. She also appeared in a special promotion ad for MCC’s upcoming season with a slightly longer style. This ad alludes to her past work in Secretary, The Dark Knight, and the fact that she is an Oscar nominee. By mentioning “Now Pregnant …on a Bike,” they are introducing her upcoming work in The Village Bike.
1)Maggie Gyllenhaal hair
It is interesting to watch how Maggie Gyllenhaal’s hairstyles change over the years. At the premiere of Criminal Minds in L.A. in 2004, she showed off a particularly short style. Brushed back away from her face it gives her, a rather, self-assured look. Around 2005 we find she has changed styles again for the SAKs 5th Avenue event she wears a stylish updo with just a touch of a finger wave; a nice look on her as it accentuates her bright blue eyes.
Being pregnant in 2006 brings on another style with a braided headband the wraps around the back in a somewhat ancient Roman look as she appears at a premiere for The World Trade Center; another nice look for her that emphasizes her cheekbones. The following year another beautiful style from Maggie Gyllenhaal’s hairdresser with a long cut and bangs, just a touch of the wave. This longer style seems to suit her well softening her features. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s hair changed yet again when she starred in, The Village Bike, she sported a mid-length cut. In 2007 her beautiful brunette color was shown off again as she wore it long, well below her shoulders, and had spiral waves in it.
At the CDFA awards in 2008, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s hair took on a new look. still parted on the left, but with a few more curls. It is much shorter and looks like it might have a tint, again curls, looking as if it is about chin length. 2009 brought a bouffant at the Golden Globe Awards and in 2010 she again moves to a medium-length, this time with shine. This is a very smooth style with just a bit of a wave and looks very elegant on her. She attended the premiere of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang in this mid-length cut. This style was parted on the left with the left side tucked behind her ear. The nice waviness of this style is part of what makes it one of her most striking looks. Last year hairstyles changed again and Maggie went very short. Short cuts seem to make her features look edgier, while longer cuts appear to soften her look. I wonder what the Maggie Gyllenhaal hairstyle will be for 2014?
