Ginnifer Goodwin’s Pixie
Actress Ginnifer Goodwin had her hair cut short since 2009 — and she plans to keep it that way. The short and boyish yet somehow paradoxically feminine and sexy pixie cut frames Ginnifer’s face, emphasizing her bone structure in a way that long hair can’t; but despite the length, her hair manages to still maintain the versatility of longer hair. Ginnifer quickly fell in love with her short hair due to its easy upkeep and the way it allows her to be “lazy.” And who can blame her? After all, long hair, especially curly hair such as Ginnifer’s can be time consuming and draining to upkeep. Long hair has to be brushed, straightened or curled, it needs product and so on, while Ginnifer Goodwin’s short hair allows her the luxury of less stress and more time when it comes to managing her hairstyle. It allows her to embrace things like “bed head” and not worry so much about how her hair looks. When the average woman spends ten full days a year on hair, suddenly a short, low maintenance cut seems much more attractive.
Ginnifer Goodwin Short Hair
Ginnifer Goodwin’s short hair is just one head in a long line of celebrity tops to sport the classic look; Audrey Hepburn, Mia Farrow, Twiggy, Victoria Beckham and Emma Watson to name a handful. The pixie cut hasn’t fallen out of favor for nearly 70 years due to its simple elegance and adaptability — a fact hardly lost on Ginnifer. Though occasionally Ginnifer Goodwin’s short hair has been worn traditionally unadorned and as it is with little styling at times, some of her other styles are anything but merely traditional. On various occasions Ginnifer Goodwin’s short hair has taken modern and edgy twists without seeming too androgynous — she has had a mohawk-style cut with shaved sides and a longer tousled top, a punk-rock, side swept piecey style, a pushed-up pompadour — though we can only mention a few here, the list is almost inexhaustible. Ginnifer is constantly playing with her hair and experimenting, yet she has managed to take the quintessential and time tested pixie cut and revamp it for a new generation, all while preserving a certain amount of cute femininity.
Ginnifer loves her short hair so much that she’s quite literally unwilling to part from it. Not long after she had her hair cropped short she contacted her lawyer in order to have a clause written into her movie contract stating that she wouldn’t have to grow out or otherwise alter her hair for any roles she played; she claimed that she liked her cut too much and dislike having to deal with character haircuts that she felt didn’t suit her. Now instead, of cutting her hair, the production has to supply a wig.
Possibly the best part about Ginnifer Goodwin’s short hair is that she has the ability to wear it with confidence and sexiness in a society where short hair on women is not the norm — after all when it comes down to how you look, confidence is half the battle.
